The parameters required for the calculation of CBED patterns are set using the illumination panel or the microscope dialogue and the diffraction panel or the specimen dialogue .

The center of the Laue circle (that sets the fine specimen orientation within a given zone) is set under mouse control by grabbing the green cross (gross control) or using the keyboard (fine control) with the arrows and Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Shift + Ctrl, Shift + Alt, Ctrl+ Alt or Shift + Ctrl + Alt. Shift+Ctrl+Alt+home sets the center of Laue circle to (0,0,0). The slider on the left of the kinematical diffraction pattern adjusts the camera length and the slider on the right the deviation (number of reflections). Larger camera length are set by the zoom control.

The indices of the center of the Laue circle are given by reference to the untilted zone axis pattern.
