3-D crystal structures are plotted in Figures 1, 2. Figure 1 shows a
drawing that makes use of the java3D API, while Figure 2 does not. The java3D API is activated by selecting the Java3D
enable checkbox of menu Parameters, menu item Preferences, tab Imaging-Others (Fig. 9).
The controls permit to change the direction of observation, color and size of the atoms.

Figure 2 Java3D desabled.
The java3D enable dialogue can draw projected crystal structures (Fig. 3) or
perspective one (Fig. 4). Moving the mouse on the crystal model, the left mouse button
rotates the structure, left mouse button + Alt zooms the structure and the right mouse button translates the
structure.

An example of a Black and White parallel projection of GaN is shown in Fig.

The 3-D drawing is modified by controls provided by panes allowing to change the size and color of the atoms
(Fig. 7a), to add atoms bonds (Fig. 7b) or to change the drawing resolution (Fig. 7a).
Other controls change the crystal viewing direction (Fig. 8a, 8b), or switch from perspective to
projection views (Fig. 8c).
